for those who don’t know, river is intentionally drawn to look androgynous or like a mix between traditionally feminine and masculine traits, while also identifying as genderfluid. i do that because i want people to question their gender. i wanted to have a character that made people stop and think about what they were perceiving. i don’t get angry or offended when y’all can’t tell “if they’re a boy or a girl” cause that’s kinda the point (they are both) and a majority of people still aren’t aware of non-binary identities. so it’s okay. just respect that, all right? as someone who identifies as agender, it was important for me to have a major character who shared the status of non-binary.
ANYWAYS just a little thing about that.

oh yeah i dont know if i mentioned this before but river has a carnivorous diet. they physically can’t eat vegetation without getting really sick. and forrest is the opposite. also his favorite food is candied cherries.
